There is more than a little anxiety amongst members of the board who have worked for almost two years to get to this stage.

“For the bank to go ahead it is necessary to raise $890,000 and we are up to a little over $810,000,” board member Robert Stock said.

“Across the Mountains the community support for this project has been terrific.

“We just hope we can get this last amount in and get the doors open by late August or early September.

“Community Banks in every state of Australia are contributing tangible benefits to their communities.

“This is an opportunity that it would be a pity for the Mountains to miss.”
