Springwood Scorchers Youth League representative Matt Porter has won the prestigious Senior Male Player of the Year award, after starring for his team throughout the 2009 representative season.
Porter helped guide the Scorchers into this year’s playoff series, where they eventually ended their season with a gallant 87-68 quarter final loss to the competition’s raging hot favourites, the Blacktown Storm.
Youngsters Darcy Burns-Dunn (U14 women) and Joshua Anderson (U14 men) took out this year’s Junior Female and Junior Male Player of the Year awards respectively, whilst Kathy Kuypers won the Coach of the Year award.
