The Australian Masters will be held at Royal Melbourne Golf Club in 2013, from November 14 to 17. This year will mark the 35th anniversary of the prestigious event and the first time the tournament has been played over the composite course at Royal Melbourne.
Event owner and promoter IMG has reaffirmed its commitment to bring three of the top 25 players in the Official World Golf Rankings to play the event.
It believes the attraction of Royal Melbourne will further enhance the field. The Masters has been the biggest-drawing tournament in Australia in the past few years, with world No. 7 Adam Scott and European Ryder Cup heroes Ian Poulter (No.12) and Greame McDowell (No.15) the headline acts at last year's event, held at Kingston Heath.
Scott was the story of the 2012 Masters, fulfilling a childhood dream by winning his first gold jacket, edging out Poulter in a classic final-round battle.
