Phoenix dreaming is the theme of this year’s Katoomba Winter Magic Festival on Saturday, June 21.
“The theme signifies the rebirth of the mountains, regeneration and new beginnings and since it is also the 21st birthday it ties in well as you celebrate your birth more on those significant birthdays,” said a festival spokeswoman.
“The 2014 committee have been very excitedly working on this year’s festival. A number of stalls with a big emphasis on local and handmade items have been approved,” said the spokeswoman.
“A major focus for the committee in 2014 is to try and represent the local community. We have such a diverse population and culture up here and we will do our best to represent it the best we can. Applications for entertainment are now closed and the program will be listed on the festival’s website as soon as the schedule is set.”
The festival is also in its second year of its three-year sustainability plan. If anyone is interested in helping out with sustainability, contact Marina Brown at: sustainability@wintermagic.com.au
