A horror crash between two cars on the Great Western Highway last month has had a tragic aftermath with a Wentworth Falls woman dying from complications caused by the accident.
Inge Mulder, 47, died from a blood clot related to trauma injuries from the May 7 crash. Her funeral was held on Monday, June 23.
A 56-year-old St Marys woman was killed in the crash when her vehicle lost control and collided with Ms Mulder's car at Springwood. The woman was driving westbound when she may have slipped into a diabetic coma, causing her car to cross onto the wrong side of the highway directly into the path of Ms Mulder's vehicle which was heading east.
Ms Mulder endured an eight-hour emergency operation following the crash but was hopeful of regaining full movement when the Gazette spoke to her last month.
"I've seen a photo of my car ... I'm extremely lucky," she said at the time, adding it was "tragic someone had died in the accident".
