Born and raised in the Blue Mountains, Cassie Colless already has an extensive theatre biography under her belt, having been performing from a young age.
This August sees the Valley Heights resident take to the stage at Riverside Theatres in Parramatta, starring in Riverside Lyric Ensemble's Little Shop of Horrors.
The hilarious cult musical tells the story of Seymour, a hapless florist's assistant who finds fame and fortune thanks to his discovery and cultivation of a unique new species with an unusual taste in plant food. Colless plays Audrey, Seymour's beautiful, sweet and naive co-worker, and the love of his life.
"Live theatre is definitely one of the most exciting things you can do as a performer," said Colless. "I've loved working with such an amazing and talented cast."
Performing is definitely in Colless' blood.
"I remember really wanting a particular role in a high school musical, and when I got it, it instantly topped school on the priority list much to my parents' disapproval!"
Straight out of high school, Colless was accepted into the music theatre program at the renowned Victorian College of the Arts, and she is now working towards establishing a career in the entertainment industry.
Little Shop of Horrors is at Riverside Theatres, Parramatta, from August 1-10. Tickets are available by phoning 8839 3399 or online at www.riversideparramatta.com.au.
