Biznet, the Regional Chamber of Commerce for the Blue Mountains, will kick off the 2012 Blue Mountains Business awards on July 18.
Two top local businesses, iKOU in Leura and Accounting and Taxation Advantage in Glenbrook, are also in the finals of the Telstra Awards.
“It shows the high calibre of businesses we have here in the Blue Mountains and we are very proud that these businesses have gone on to excel in other awards programs,” said Biznet president, Dave Garner.
Melissa Browne from Accounting and Taxation Advantage has opened a new office in North Sydney this year and is very excited to be in the Telstra finals. She won the Blue Mountains business services and customer service awards last year, while employee Lauren Law won the employee of the year.
Naomi and Paul Whitfeld from iKOU were winners of the 2011 Blue Mountains retail business and beauty services, and highly commended in the environmental business categories. They are also finalists in the Telstra Awards and have expanded their business and now have a spa in Leura and a retail outlet in Paddington.
Another successful Blue Mountains Business is Choice Home Loans at Valley Heights, highly commended last year in the business services category and winner of the innovation award in 2010. Peita Davies has taken her business ahead to win the customer service award in the Australian Mortgage Awards for the second time in 2011 and became a finalist for broker of the year in 2011 and 2012 in the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia Awards.
