Children injured in Springwood crash

Four people including two young children were taken to hospital after a car crashed into a tree in Springwood late last Thursday.

The car is believed to have hit the gutter before smashing into the tree outside Braemar Gallery about 11.30pm, according to police.

The car, carrying two adults and two children believed to be aged between five and seven years old, was badly damaged in the incident and the woman suffered severe abdominal and chest injuries.

She was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment, while the two children were taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital with unknown injuries.

Blue Mountains police are investigating the crash and seeking assistance from witnesses.
