Jessica Fox will have an Olympic medal in her sights tonight [Thursday] when she returns to the Lee Valley White Water Centre for the semi-final of the women's single kayak.
The former Blaxland High School student will be striving to emulate her impressive run in the heats to secure a place in the final, to be held later on day six (Friday morning AEST).
Fox showed impressive composure to overcome a capsize in her first run of the heats earlier this week, qualifying in fourth position with a score of 100.33.
Overcoming the disastrous opening to her Olympic campaign was a confidence builder for the 18-year-old.
"I was definitely really relieved to know that I could come back after such a terrible run and really put it together," she said. "I was . . . happy that I was in fourth place, so that was a pretty good run and a good time but now I just have to focus on the semi-final."
