After more than a decade, Lydia Zandstra has hung up her hat as Hazelbrook's postmistress.
She finished up on Monday, handing over to the new owner, Weigang Ji.
"It's time for change - new adventures and new goals to achieve," she said.
"I would like to thank my mum Irena, who worked part-time at the post office and who has helped and supported me in running the post office. I couldn't have done it without her.
"I would also like to sincerely thank Cherie Boothroyd for her support, kindness and impeccable service both to us and our customers. Another big thank you goes out to the surrounding business for their support and patronage, it is much appreciated. And, of course, I thank the community, too."
Ms Zandstra said her mum was taking a well-earned break and looking forward to becoming a grandmother in January.
"And I'm looking forward to becoming an aunt."
Ms Zandstra said she had found Hazelbrook and the wider Mid Mountains community "a vibrant and dynamic group of people from many walks of life", which she will miss serving.
"We have seen so many changes over the years - the highway, seen people move away and sometimes back again, children grow into young adults.
"It has surprised me over the years just how diverse and talented such a little community is."
She will continue to work on her online business, Little M Boutique, which sells clothing, toys and accessories for infants and children up to the age of six. Ms Zandstra also plans on doing a property management course in the new year.
Weigang Ji, the new postmaster, has spent the last two weeks training with the Zandstras and has been moved at the welcome he has received.
"Please be patient with the new owner," Ms Zandstra said, "I remember it took me nearly a year to find my feet and I had less to learn back then."
