Runners will be pounding the bush tracks of the Blue Mountains at the end of this month as part of the official training camp for The North Face 100 and its sister 50km event.
The 100km North Face event is Australia's most popular ultra-distance running race and attracts runners from around the world to the Blue Mountains each May.
The three-day training camp from February 27 to March 1 will be based in Katoomba and allow participants to run much of the course, including the Iron Pot Ridge section that is usually out of bounds to the public. There will also be a night run with head torches.
The camp will be hosted by Woodford's Brendan Davies, who won TNF100 in 2013 and now spends much of his time training other endurance runners.
Davies says participants will also get to attend seminars on nutrition, hydration, recovery, pacing, maintaining energy, techniques for uphill and downhill running, gear selection and how to deal with pre-race anxiety.
