Have you ever been out in the bush and stopped to listen to the circulation of a tree with a stethoscope?
That's what members of the Blue Mountains outdoor adventure community did on February 18 when they spent a day soaking up the wisdom of two highly respected locals, naturalist Wyn Jones and veteran guide Jeff Wardhaugh.
After gathering at Dunphy's camp ground in the Megalong Valley, the group ventured out along Bellbird Ridge discussing everything from bush tucker to geology.
The day was organised by Daryl Wilson of Blue Mountains Guides and included representatives of TAFE and other adventure companies such as Blue Mountains Adventure Company, High 'N' Wild, Eagle Rock Adventures and Life's An Adventure.
Some even stayed for a barbecue and night bushwalk down into Carlons Creek, trying to spotlight nocturnal creatures like the yellow-bellied glider.
