The Labor Party has won the seat of Blue Mountains with Trish Doyle defeating sitting MP Roza Sage in Saturday's election.
Ms Doyle said her election win was the culmination of four years hard work.
"It's been working with the community for the last four years. It's about listening to people, it's about the community telling me they would like their local representative to consult with them. They want a local member who will represent them in a loud and clear and strong voice and that's what I will do," she told ABC television.
Ms Doyle has won 41.2 per cent of the primary vote to Roza Sage's 35.3 per cent, with 61 per cent counted.
In the Penrith electorate, voters in the four Lower Mountains booths helped return sitting Liberal MP Stuart Ayres.
