A 61-year-old man has been charged with the murder of his wife whose remains were discovered at Echo Point in Katoomba last year.
Detectives arrested Ken Hills at his Ingleburn home on Saturday morning following a two-and-a-half year investigation. He was was taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station and charged with murder.
Margaret Hills, who was 60 at the time, was last seen by her husband at her Katoomba home in February 2010.
A bushwalker found her remains at the foot of Echo Point in December last year.
Detective Inspector Mick Bostock said Mr Hall was arrested after police searched the Ingleburn home he shared with his de facto.
"At 6.15 this morning (Saturday) Blue Mountains detectives executed a search warrant at a dwelling at Macquarie Fields Local Area Command," he told reporters in Sydney.
"A 61-year-old man was arrested in relation to the murder of Margaret Hills."
Mr Hills was due to appear in Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday).
