Juniors. The junior cadets is now happening on Sunday afternoon after Lang's free weekly junior golf clinic. The winner this week was Harry Daniels who had a win with 4 points closely followed by runner up Flynn Hersant with 3 points. Mitchell Browne had his first junior cadet game and did well in tough windy conditions.
Saturday 9 May single stableford and 2BBB - Keno mixed fourball qualifier (109 starters). The overall winner was Graem Bush (10) with 36 pts OCB from runner-up John Bromhead (10) also with 36 points. Third place went to Doug Halpin (19) also with 36 points. In fourth place was Damien Roots (17) with 35 pts OCB from Matt Richards (9). The ladies winner was Christine Hargreaves (33) with 30 pts OCB from runner Philippa Parker (23). Saturday May 9 was the monthly medal with a stableford in conjunction. A grade medal winner was J. Hogan (6) with nett 74, runner-up B. Higgins (10) with nett 78. B grade medal winner was S. Giradi (17) with 78 nett, runner-up J. Carter (14) with 80 nett. The C grade medal winner was S. Burns (21) with 69 nett and runner-up D. Barnes (20) with 74 nett. The ball comp went down to 80 nett. Leura Women
May 5 was the May medal round. Jo Neep on 8, really cleaned up the field this week coming in with nett 77 to win the medal and the three NTPs on the 5th, 9th and 17th holes. A big congratulations to Jo. Balls for the NTPs were donated by Helen, Heather and Elaine. In 2nd place was Sarah Pearson (21) with nett 78 and 3rd was Elaine Scullion-Stewart (29) with nett 81. Welcome to Joy visiting from Canberra. On Tuesday 19, our comp will be a par, the first round for the Beryl Denver-Stevenson Salver.
Blue Mountains Social
Friday May 8 we played our ine holes at Leura GC. It was a par bisque game with a twist, which created some amusement amongst the players. We also counted our putts. Winner was Margaret Hynard closely followed by Etsuko Saxton then Rosalie Rolfe. Well done. Next Friday 15th, we are booked in at Lithgow GC for nine o'clock. Wednesday May 6 was time again for the Mountain's best midweek. Winner of the single event was Mick Lonergan (17) with 39 points winning a $70 voucher on a countback from Tim Barlow PGA (1) winning a $30 voucher. The B grade medal went to David Wild (17) with 70 nett ahead of Mick Campbell (13) with 71 nett while the C grade went to Roy Najjar (29) with 70 nett ahead of Rua Kenny (23) with 72 nett. The gold medal winner was Roy Najjar (29) with 70 nett. The scratch winner was Joshua Thomas with 73 also winning the day's best nett score of 67 sponsored by Mick Campbell's, Mountain Stone design. Nearest the pin on the 2nd went to John Holmes, on the 5th to Graham Dowdell, on the 7th to Ian Griffiths, on the 13th to Noel Daly, on the 14th to Phil Strick and on the 17th to Carlos Donoso with the propin of $140 remaining intact and jackpotting to next week.
