Chris Waller hailed Press Statement as an "ideal horse" to travel to Royal Ascot next year after Vinery Stud and the China Horse Club bought a controlling interest in the group 1-winning two-year-old.
The unbeaten JJ Atkins winner, which went one better than Waller's former star two-year-olds Zoustar and Brazen Beau in the feature juvenile race of the Brisbane winter carnival last month, will stand in the Hunter Valley when his racing days are over.
"He is a very talented colt," Waller said. "He won the group 1 JJ Atkins very comfortably; the same race Zoustar and Brazen Beau, who I also trained, ran second in.
"I believe Press Statement is a better horse now than they were at the same stage and I think he fits the mould of being a superstar colt."
Managing part-owner Tony Muollo has retained a share on behalf of Press Statement's owners to race the son of Hinchinbrook throughout his three-year-old season.
Press Statement is the last of the three two-year-old colts to win a major this season to be sold off to major studs. Coolmore snapped up a controlling interest in Golden Slipper winner Vancouver and Blue Diamond-Sires Produce hero Pride Of Dubai after their autumn heroics.
Press Statement is a half-brother to Pressday, Waller's first two-year-old group 1 winner in the JJ Atkins five years ago.
"Press Statement is undefeated as a two-year-old, winning all three of his starts, including a group 1; a great start for any young colt," said Vinery Stud's Peter Orton. "It is, however, the potential improvement that we can see in this colt that is most exciting".
