Under 6/2s, Lower Mountains 24 v Waratahs 16: Our 6/2s ran and chased and tackled and supported each other all match. It was a great game and crowd cheered their team all the way.
Under 8s, Lower Mountains 20 v Brothers 26: Ella and boys played great attack and defensive football this week. To go down by only six points against a very strong Brothers side was a great result. Coach's award this week goes to Finn Hartley for a great attacking game
Under 9s, Lower Mountains 18 v Quakers Hill 18: Great game by the whole team today, shame the wind blew to miss the last kick, keeping the game at a draw. Awesome game by all the boys, they all looked smart in their pink socks for the McGrath Foundation. Thanks Brenda for organising it. Tries: W Stavrakis 2, B Roberts 2. Goals: B Roberts, 1. Man of the Match: Nicholas Hansen.
Under 10/1s, Lower Mountains 24 v Brothers 4: After a slow start with a few uncharacteristic mistakes the boys clicked into gear. Some good ball movement lead to a try out wide to Hayden, that was followed up by a great long ball from Riley and some good finishing by Cooper to score a try, then Riley did it all himself to score a nice try to lead 16-0 at half time. The boys wasted no time in the second half with a good try out wide to Pat B and then they finished off the job with some nice passes leading to a try to Finaye. Ben tackled himself to a standstill once again. Players' Player went to Riley Barglik.
Under 10/2s, Lower Mountains 14 v Quakers Hill 28: With the season on the line and one round left to play, the team came out firing in attack and were unlucky not to score early on the back of some tireless running from man of the match Jake Gordon. But Quakers Hill maintained their composure in the face of Lower Mountains early onslaught and clawed their way back. Lower Mountains stayed in touch but were behind 4 - 12 at half time. An early second half try kept the team's hopes alive but Quakers Hill were too good in
the end. Tries to Aiden Lewis (2) and Will Ticehurst.
Under 11/1s, Lower Mountains v Brothers: The boys had an excellent game for tackling and defence. Once again the boys managed to keep the Brothers down their end of the field, which is how they won the game.
Under 11/2s, Lower Mountains 42 v Brothers 6: It was always going to be a hard game against the undefeated Brothers team especially with a player short. Some good backing up by K Holden, strong running and tackling from player of the match Albert Treton, Ben Muddle and Liam Sibbald, and big improvement from Jai Mansfield.
Under 12s, Lower Mountains 0 v Emu Plains 16: Starting for the first time with a reserve, the anticipated night clash with Emu Plains proved to be a letdown. Being slow out of the blocks allowed Emu to get on top and the subsequent loss of 3 players to injury soon left the team with only 11 players. The boys continued to compete and although defeated on the night were still right in the game. Good
performances from Eli Kaivelata, Lachlan Whitehouse, Connor Stanton and Bronson Fitzpatrick.
Under 14/1s, Lower Mountains 6 v St Clair 14: This game had tough defence, exciting attacking plays and some great tries. Our boys were outstanding, dropping the much bigger St Clair boys in their tracks and then running the ball with great vigour. Once again our two captains Bowen Vassallo and Tommy Okladnikov were inspirational. Nugget Malouf, Jordan Sayers, Michael Kerehoma and Chris Weinman were outstanding and Mitch Cory and Ricky Martinello
showed their class. Try to Tommy and the goal to Ricky.
Under 14/2s, Lower Mountains 53 v Cambridge Park 8: Fantastic effort from the boys with another win on home soil. Credit to Connor,
Antoine and Zachary for their leadership and getting a well-earned win.
Under 15/2s, Lower Mountains 10 v Cambridge Park 24: The boys were playing their last home game of the season and knew they wouldn't make the finals and that it would be a tough game against ladder leaders Cambridge Park. Finally the boys played as a team realising the potential to showcase a tremendous brand of
football that coaching staff were proud of.
Under 16s, Lower Mountains 4 v Windsor 26: In a game of two halves the boys played an outstanding first half to go to the break
one try each. Unfortunately a few bounces of the ball went against us in the second half and a couple of lucky tries saw the game slip away. A very committed effort from all the boys, with Jack Hukin winning man of the match.
Under 19s, Lower Mountains 44 v Blacktown Workers 6: A great
effort from the boys scoring 3 converted tries in windy conditions in the first half. A lapse in concentration saw their opponents score, going to the break 18-6 up. The second half the boy put together some good footy to score some great tries to come away with a great win. Tries: H Beattie 2, J Conlon-King 2, B Sutcliffe, L Bauerhuit, L Macfarlane, J Colless. Goals: N Willson 4, Golden Boots Bailey 2.
A Grade, Lower Mountains 54 v Blacktown City 34: A slow start by the boys when not much was on the line apart from the win itself. Eighteen-all was a fair indication of the first half, then the boys put the opposition away quickly, early in the second half.
Women's Open, Lower Mountains v Berkley Vale: Lower Mountains Women travelled to Berkley Vale with only 9 players. The ladies showed a lot of heart trying their best in both defence and attack but
couldn't match a stacked home side. The ladies did the club proud, never giving up.
