Glenbrook Women
Glenbrook hosted the successful Nancy Dawe Memorial Bowls Day on July 24. A record number of women bowlers attended the day with 30 teams (90 bowlers) travelling from as far as Merrylands, Ingleburn, Camden, Richmond and Hazelbrook to test their skills in a ful.lled competition of triple bowls as a memorial tribute to Nancy Dawe, a former state bowler from the Blue Mountains. The day started with a sumptuous morning tea. Many of the ladies renewed friendships and caught up with each other from other clubs. Opened by President J Lewis, the bowlers played two games of triple bowls. Many thanks to the Glenbrook club who provided an excellent lunch and to the Glenbrook women's bowlers who hosted the successful day.Winning team for the day was state player Mary-Anne Parcell returning to Glenbrook for the day and Glenbrook bowlers Pauline Tolhurst and Helen Burke. Second place went to Springwood bowlers D.Stones, M.Cole and P.Dawes. Encouragement award went to Richmond and runners-up went to Springwood. Special thanks to our umpires P.McColl, R.Jacka and N.Workman who manned the scoreboard. We look forward to seeing you all in 2016.

Club mixed championships are now under way plus our strong team of pennant players are preparing for the Grade 3 state pennant play-off which will be held at Berry Bowling Club from Tuesday, August 18. Our open and seniors fours teams participated in the regional play-offs last week. Both teams played to their best on the day and were rewarded with being runners-up, well done to all players. Our club is still intent on attracting new bowlers and free coaching is available each Saturday morning.
