The first Springwood Growers Market will be held on Sunday, August 23 with about 60 growers and producers offering a range of local and regional foods.
The Blue Mountains Community Hub will present the markets on the fourth Sunday of each month in partnership with Black Castle Events.
The director of Black Castle Events, Pollyanne Feneck, said she thought there would be an appetite for a new outlet for the markets, which are also held monthly in Blackheath.
"We are very excited to be activating a new growers market in the region," said Pollyanne Feneck, the director of Black Castle Events.
"Our long-established market at Blackheath has been phenomenally successful and we expect the Springwood Growers Market to be just as popular with Lower and Mid-Mountains residents."
A wide range of produce will be on offer, including fresh and organic fruit and vegetables; beef, pork and bacon; olives and antipasto; salami and French pates; olive oils, local wines, biscuits, condiments, smoked nuts, free range eggs, teas, saffron; and Scottish small goods and organic meats.
A selection of goats, sheep and cow cheeses will be available, as well as delicious fresh breads, spices, gluten- and dairy-free products, lemon myrtle products, plants and seedlings and pet food.
The Springwood Growers Markets will be held at the Blue Mountains Community Hub, 104-108 Macquarie Road, Springwood, from 9am-1pm. For further information about th emarkets call 4572 6260 or email bc@black-castleevents.com.au.
