The audience at Kasey Chambers' concert in Katoomba this November should expect the unexpected when it comes to on-stage anecdotes.
"I don't always think before I say things, so who knows what I'll come out with!" she said.
Chambers' unfiltered stories about everything from her family to television habits or life on the road are as much a part of the Aria-winner's shows as her acclaimed songs.
Having undertaken a triumphant tour of the US this August, it's a trademark she doesn't temper for an international audience either.
"I am just myself on stage anywhere in the world," she said.
"I like being me. But when I'm in America I must admit I do ham up the Aussie stories a bit... I tell them all that we all ride kangaroos to work!"
Whatever Chambers does in America, it's been working. Her stateside shows garnered outstanding reviews, with The Huffington Post describing her performance as "... her near-delirious joy in singing to us was matched by the effusive standing ovations she received from the audience".
Chambers is champing at the bit to start her regional Australian tour this month after undergoing successful vocal surgery in May this year.
"I feel like after having voice trouble last year... it [the tour] has been a long time coming. But now after surgery my voice is stronger than ever and I'm ready to be back out on the road.
“I love playing both regional and city gigs, and they definitely are different," she said.
Chambers will perform songs from Bittersweet, the album that won her the 2014 Aria Award for Best Country Album, as well as play her classic tunes and showcase some brand new tracks that got standing ovations throughout the US.
Joining her on stage will be two young musicians Chambers first saw perform at tiny gig at a Central Coast pub last year.
She was so impressed with the talent of Brandon Dodd and Josh Dufficy she invited them to join her on tour.
"We've had the best time on the road and on stage. They are two amazing young musicians and their band Grizzlee Train are going to go a long way," she said.
Chambers' gig at Katoomba RSL Club on Friday, November 27 will also bring back some happy Blue Mountains memories for the performer.
"My favourite moment spent in the Blue Mountains was going to The Clarendon two nights in a row to watch Arlo Guthrie play on my birthday a few years ago.
“He is one of my favourite songwriters and we named our son after him," she said.
