Everything from printmaking, drawing, painting and sculpture to digital media, jewellery and photography was on show at the 15th annual Dr Marshall Art and Design Awards last Friday night, showcasing the best artwork this year by Blue Mountains Grammar School students.
Artist and part-time Blackheath resident Louise Lammers, from the Design Centre Enmore, praised the students for the enormous range and quality of their work and spoke about the importance of creativity and good design for society.
2015 Dr Marshall prize male and female visual art winners: Finnian O'Connor and Amelie Cambon (Year 7); Mitchell Browne and Ailsa Seex (Year 8); Lucien Robba and Jessica Prowse (Year 9); Joseph O'Doherty and Laura Smith (Year 10); Peggy Grant-Dawes and Willabel Grindley Bennett (Year 11).
Year 12 Derivan's Award winners: Sorrel Hanemann-Fayers (for manipulation of media) and Natalie De Losa (for expressive use of media).
Sculpture winners: James Gillen and Madison McKenzie.
Photography winners: Jade Beavis (senior); Hannah Dooley (junior).
Senior technology/design winners: Austin Warren (Year 11); Jake Post (Year 12).
Sam Griffin people's choice winner: Joey Jones-Romeo.
