Katoomba Indigenous dancer and choreographer Ian RT Colless has been a hive of creative activity since arriving back from New York where he founded the Untitled Collective – a cutting edge multi-cultural, international arts company.
He staged its work on Broadway and was the first choreographer commissioned to create a work for the United Nations’ Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues.
The aesthetic is neo-classical, balletic and graceful.

Back home last year, Mr Colless, 29, was on a Q Lab Creative Development Residences Program placement that resulted in Element, a dance performed at the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre exploring how earth, fire, wind and water affect our daily lives.
He also created Kangaroo Study for Birrang Creative Residency.
Since then he's created two contrasting major works for a series of end-of-year shows at Carriageworks in Sydney, starring some of Australia's most exciting young dancers.
Carriageworks hosted the National Indigenous and Islander Skills Development Association (NAISDA) end-of-year performances, called KAMU, from November 25-28.
His second work to be performed at Carriageworks is called From the Feet Up which will be part of Sydney Dance Company's annual pre-professional year concert series, Revealed, from December 3-5.
"From the Feet Up is a work about trusting yourself," Mr Colless said.
"The aesthetic is neo-classical, balletic and graceful."
