Lower Blue Mountains families looking to kick start the year with healthy changes to their lifestyle are encouraged to enrol in Term 1 of Go4Fun, a free after school program supporting children to become fitter, healthier and happier.
Lower Blue Mountains Go4Fun Exercise Group Leader, Leesa Kaimoana, said Go4Fun is a free 10 week healthy lifestyle program for children aged 7-13 who are above a healthy weight.
“Go4Fun is about making sustainable changes to improve the lives of your children and your family. Families who have attended the previous Go4Fun programs have achieved fantastic results and are now enjoying healthier, more active lifestyles,” she said.
“The program is so much fun for kids and their families. The kids in particular have lots of fun learning about nutrition and good food choices in a non-threatening environment.”
Ms Kaimoana took up her role as exercise group leader after witnessing the benefits of the program firsthand.
“My daughter and I enrolled in Go4Fun several years ago. I found the program to be a really good experience and as a result of our participation, my daughter is now much more active and sets aside time to exercise regularly,” she said.
“If you’re looking to improve your family’s eating habits, learn about nutrition for the whole family and increase your children’s fitness and confidence, Go4Fun is a great way to get the family involved in living an active, healthy and happy lifestyle.”
Go4Fun will run at Blaxland Public School, Tuesdays from 4-6pm during the first school term, start date from Tuesday, February 2. For more information and to register visit www.go4fun.com.au.
