Bullaburra train station is undergoing platform reconstruction over the next few weeks to improve safety and reduce the need for ongoing maintenance. Some of the work has led to disruptions to services.
A Transport for NSW spokeswoman said “while every effort is made to carry out the main work over weekends, weekday work will take place between 7am and 5.30pm between Monday February 1 and Friday March 11”.
The spokeswoman was responding to queries by the Gazette after concerns from some commuters who had not been able to access the station on Monday February 1. The station was closed from 3.15 am until 12.15 that morning, but notices were put up at the station a week prior to the closure and also distributed to homes within 250 metres of the station. A shuttle bus service ran between Lawson, Bullaburra and Wentworth Falls.
“As with all maintenance works, we will continue to provide information to customers in advance of work taking place,” she said.
