A 58-year-old man has been charged with 18 alleged historical sexual assault offences in Katoomba.
Blue Mountains police received reports last October of a number of alleged sexual assaults that occurred in Katoomba between 1992 and 2006.
Detectives launched an investigation and arrested a 58-year-old man on Wednesday, February 10.
He was taken to Katoomba Police Station where he was charged with 14 counts of aggravated sexual assault and four counts of aggravated indecent assault.
Police will allege in court the man committed the assaults against a young girl between 1992 and 2006.
A crime scene warrant was later executed at a Katoomba home, and examined by detectives and forensic specialists.
Several exhibits were also seized from the property.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear before Penrith Local Court today (Thursday, February 11).
Investigations into the matter are continuing.
