Glenbrook Swimming Club will soon have an electronic timing board thanks to funding from the state government.
Member for Penrith Stuart Ayres met Glenbrook Swimming Club president Matthew Neale on Friday to announce the club will receive the $17,500 grant.
“The main aim of this program is to increase regular and on-going participation opportunities in sport and active recreation in NSW,” said Mr Ayres.
“Sport is a huge part of our way of life and the NSW Government recognises that.”
Mr Neale said there are a number of capable swimmers in the club and the installation of the timing board will provide them with the encouragement and competitive edge they need.
“This grant will be very helpful in driving the outer western swimming program to a more competitive status,” he said.
