Weekend hazard reductions in the Upper Mountains have led to the closure of some popular walking tracks.
Tracks in the Kedumba Valley and Jamison Valley (south of Katoomba, Leura and Wentworth Falls villages) were closed over the weekend and will remain closed for the rest of the week while the fire grounds are assessed.
National Parks and Wildlife Service spokesman Richard Kingswood said it would depend on rain and the assessment of hazardous trees, but the aim was for the tracks to reopen for the weekend.
The closed areas include Sublime Point fire trail between Leura Forest and Kedumba Pass and the eastern end of the Mount Solitary walking track between Sublime Point Fire Trail and the Kedumba River (the Mount Solitary walk must be undertaken via Kedumba Clearing).
Fines can be issued for those disobeying the closures. Signs are in place.

National Parks has also advised that Princes Rock Lookout at Wentworth Falls to replace safety barriers.It will be closed until Thursday June 30. The Princes Rock Track will remain open to allow access to and from the Undercliff / Overcliff Track.
The following previously closed walking tracks have been re-opened including Federal Pass walking track from Golden Stairs to Scenic World, Federal Pass walking track from Furber steps to Leura Forest, Dardenelles Pass, the Ruined Castle walking track, Kedumba Pass and Kedumba Clearing campground
