About 3.30 on Saturday morning, a 19-year-old Cowra woman was driving west through Blaxland when she hit one of the large palm trees in the centre of the road. The impact pushed her back into the traffic where she was hit by another car being driven by a 52-year-old man from Winmalee.
The female driver was trapped and eventually freed by emergency services. She was taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment as well as mandatory alcohol and drug testing. The male driver failed a roadside breath test and was taken to Springwood Police Station where he returned a reading of 0.061. He will be issued with a court attendance notice.
