Blue Mountains City Council has recently resealed the busy Railway Parade and Wilson Way roundabout in Blaxland.
The work involved resealing the road in asphalt, heavy road patching and adjustments to utilities, as well as new line marking.
The increased traffic movements in the area combined with the heavy vehicles that service Blaxland tip and the Attunga Road industrial area prompted council to bring forward the timing of resealing of Railway Parade.
The work, completed at a cost of almost $240,000, was undertaken at night to minimise disruption to road users
“The poor condition of Railway Parade and the Wilson Way roundabout has been an important issue for the local community,” said Ward 4 Councillor Brendan Christie. It had led him to “make representations on behalf of residents to improve the state of these roads,” he said.
“I am very pleased council was able to complete the works sooner than planned”.
