THE Western Sydney Wanderers are no strangers to thousands of supportive fans but their newly-signed, and coming back after a two-year stint away, goalkeeper may have his work cut out for him this weekend.
Jerrad Tyson will be at Blue Mountains Football Club (Knapsack Park, Glenbrook) on Saturday morning to meet and greet players (young and not so), parents and officials, as well as help with MiniRoos trophy presentations and create special memories for a bunch of very excited kids.
Jerrad is making one of his first appearances in the community since returning to the Wanderers this season. He was well known for his generous and genuine efforts in western Sydney in his first stint with the club. Looks like nothing has changed upon his return!
Blue Mountains Football Club is really pleased to be hosting a player visit, and were thrilled to learn that their player was going to be Jerrad. Player visits are a first for the A-League club and provide a wonderful opportunity to directly engage with local, grassroots football.
A-League players are the ‘champions’ for younger football players and role models for the slightly older kids. They give them all something to aspire to and inspire them to continue with football - meeting them one-on-one is an opportunity of a lifetime.
About half of the 700+ players at Blue Mountains Football Club are MiniRoos, so the club expecting hundreds of kids, and a corresponding number of parents, to welcome Jerrad to Glenbrook.
He will be at Knapsack Park from 9.30-11am on Saturday, July 23.
