Over the next weeks, the Blue Mountains Gazette will bring readers details of all candidates for the September 10 council elections.
Although nominations do not close until August 10, there are many names confirmed.
Six of the ALP councillors will recontest – Mark Greenhill (ward 4), Mick Fell (ward 3), Romola Hollywood and Annette Bennett (ward 2) and Don McGregor and Sarah Shrubb (ward 1). Anton Von Schulenburg (ward 4) will not.
Liberal councillors Brendan Christie (ward 4), Daniel Myles (ward 3) and Chris Van der Kley (ward 2) – will be running again. Liberal Michael Begg (ward 1) has indicated he will stand again but as an independent.
Independent Cr Brendan Luchetti (ward 3) has also decided not to recontest.
All candidates will be given the opportunity to outline their policies in the Gazette.
