Olympic cycling contender

Amanda Spratt, 28, from Springwood, and a Penrith Cycling Club member, will represent Australia in the women’s road race on August 7. Spratt competed in the 2012 Olympics, battling atrocious weather to place 55th. She is the current national road race champion and won the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in January. She was second overall in the week-long Thuringen Rundfahrt road race in Germany in July.
