A 63-year-old man was knocked unconscious when machinery fell from a crane onto his head in Yellow Rock on Thursday.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was sent to Yellow Rock at about 5pm, landing in an industrial site near the injured man. NSW Ambulance crew were also on scene.
It’s understood the man was working directly beneath a piece of machinery, which was being lifted by the crane, when it slipped and fell on him, CareFlight said.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic intubated the man at the scene, placing him in an induced coma to stabilise him.
He was then airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
