A Blaxland woman has been convicted and a Blaxland man to face court over a slew of plant robberies in the Blue Mountains between January and April.
Police received 45 reports of theft of plants and garden ornaments from nurseries and homes from Glenbrook to Wentworth Falls.
Police searched a Bridge Rd, Blaxland home in June and found a large number of plants, garden ornaments, drug implements, a prohibited drug and imitation firearms.
The 41-year-old woman was convicted in Penrith Local Court on September 16 of receiving disposal of stolen property, eight counts of goods in custody and two counts of stealing a plant, and the mental health act was applied.
The 43-year-old man was charged with possessing a prohibited drug, goods in custody and disposal of stolen property and will appear for mention in Penrith Local Court on September 26.
Another Blaxland man, 25, was charged with entering closed lands, and convicted and fined $200 on June 28.
Number plate theft
The front number plate from a white ute parked on Old Bathurst Rd in Blaxland was stolen between 7am on September 16 and 8am on September 19.
In Katoomba, a front number plate from a white ute on Echo Point Rd, was also stolen between 6pm on September 16 and 12am on September 17.
It is not known yet if the thefts are linked, but inquiries are continuing.
Lock-up property
Police are urging residents to lock their homes, and tradies to lock away their tools on work vehicles.
A shipping container in the roadworks compound on Harley Ave, Mt Victoria was broken into overnight on September 14 and power tools and a socket set stolen.
Then overnight on September 16 an expensive black P-series dirt jumper mountain bike was stolen from an unlocked garage in Mt Victoria.
In Winmalee, between 6pm on September 19 and 2am on September 20, hand tools, batteries and a toolbag were stolen from an unlocked toolbox on a ute parked in Buena Vista Rd.
Bushfire
A small bushfire started in scrub about 2.30pm on September 15 at Baths Rd, Hazelbrook, is being investigated by police.
