The Blue Mountains Women’s Health and Resource Centre is running a falls prevention program for women.
It is designed to give women practical strategies and advice around keeping safe in the home and the community, safe footwear, vision, nutrition, safe use of medications and exercises that will help build strength and balance so women don’t fall.
The course is funded by the Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District, and is for women 65 years and over who are at risk of falling but who are mobile and don’t use a walking stick outside the home. It is free and will be held for seven weeks at the Blue Mountains Women’s Health and Resource Centre, 124 Lurline Street, Katoomba on Wednesdays from 1.45–4pm, starting October 19. Bookings are essential. Phone 4782 5133.
