Tasty hot Asian food, a colourful lion dance and the excitement of meeting a celebrity chef warmed the crowd at the annual Moon Festival at the Hydro Majestic Hotel on Sunday, September 25.
Luke Nguyen's new book Street Food Asia sold out by fans eager to meet the street food king in person and snap up a signed copy before its official release in November, while hot dumplings, skewers and a Banh Mi were also a hit.
The second such event at the original Blue Mountains party palace celebrated the season of re-awakening, traditional Asian culture, family and friends, new growth, harmony and the blessings of prosperity and abundance with the sights and sounds of the Orient.
Escarpment Group general manager Ralf Bruegger said the event was a success: “It was fantastic to be part of such a friendly and relaxed community spirit.
“The weather held off so people could enjoy the lion dancing and the stalls on the Hydro Majestic Pavilion verandah, and the lanterns always look beautiful against the white building.”
The next event on the Hydro Majestic calendar is the inaugural Blue Mountains Opera Festival featuring some of the best musicians in the country this weekend.
