If you’ve ever wanted to watch a movie in a unique setting then look no further than a pop-up outdoor movie screening at the Norman Lindsay Gallery.
For just one night only the Friends of the Norman Lindsay Gallery is screening Age of Consent, the Australian film featuring Helen Mirren in her first major film role.
This 1969 Australian classic is a romantic comedy-drama starring James Mason and Helen Mirren. The movie was adapted from the 1935 novel of the same name by Norman Lindsay and filmed on Dunk Island.
Prior to the screening, Paul Ashton Delprat, the Australian artist and the creator of the paintings, drawings and sculptures for the Michael Powell film, will speak. He will share his memories of Norman Lindsay, Dame Helen Mirren and the rest of the cast, and talk candidly about the three months on Dunk Island creating a film.
People are invited to bring a picnic to wine and dine before the screening. The film is not suitable for children.
The screening will be held on Saturday, October 1. Gates open 5pm.
Tickets ($25) are available at www.normanlindsay.com.au or 4751 1067.
