Police have confiscated a man's car after he was allegedly caught doing 168km/h on the Hume Highway near Goulburn.
Police said they spotted the 24-year-old man was caught driving in a 110km/h zone about 11.30am on Friday.
"He was issued with an infringement notice for speed over 45km/h, his licence was suspended for six months and his vehicle was confiscated," police said.
Further south along the Hume, they caught a 33-year-old woman doing 130km/h near Mundarlo.
They said they also arrested a 44-year-old man in Batemans Bay in the early hours of Saturday morning after he blew 0.235 - or almost five times the legal limit of 0.05.
Police used the cases to remind motorists to slow down as double demerits remain in place for the October long weekend.
NSW police have breath tested 23,420 motorists, and have charged 17 drivers with drink driving. They also issued 1476 motorists with speeding (not including fixed cameras) infringements, which is 143 more than this time last year.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Commander Acting Assistant Commissioner David Driver said the speeding drivers were not only putting their lives at risk, but others' lives, too.
"We have already seen a number drivers speeding, taking unnecessary risks and driving dangerously," he said in a statement.
"There is little doubt that speeding a major contributor to crashes on our roads. Our message is simple: slow down."
