After a domestic violence report at Springwood Police Station, a 62-year-old Hazelbrook man was arrested and charged with 12 offences on November 3.
The charges included three counts of possessing an unauthorised firearm, three counts of possessing an unregistered firearm and three counts of not keeping a firearm safely.
He was also charged with possessing/using a prohibited weapon without a permit (silencer), possessing ammunition without a licence and possessing a prohibited drug (41.9g of cannabis).
Cannabis stash at Lawson
Police responded to a domestic violence report at Lawson on November 3 and located 16 zip-lock bags of cannabis weighing 492g.
A 54-year-old from Lawson was arrested and charged with supplying a prohibited drug, possessing a prohibited drug and domestic common assault.
Bushwalker assisted
A 28-year-old bushwalker was assisted by emergency services from a walk on Wentworth Pass, in Wentworth Falls on November 5 after injuring her ankle. She was taken to Katoomba Hospital for treatment.
‘Legend’ arrested
A 32-year-old man from Orange was charged with mid-range drink driving at 12.05am on November 6.
The man drove into the Caltex Service Station at Hazelbrook where police were refuelling at the time.
The man talked about being banned from Mt Panorama, and was observed to be intoxicated. He returned a positive breath test, and upon being arrested allegedly said, "You should be patting me on the back; I'm a legend!" He returned a reading of 0.105 and his licence was suspended.
Fire charges
A 16-year-old boy was arrested at Penrith Railway Station on November 5 and charged over the bushfire at Cranebrook on Friday afternoon.
The boy was charged with intentionally cause fire and be reckless as to its spread. He will face Children’s Court on December 1. Two males – aged 17 and 21 – were arrested on Friday, but were later released without charge.
