The Penrith Basketball Association (PBA) has named its representative coaches for 2017, including four from the Blue Mountains.
Dynamic Youth League guard Dominika Offner (Springwood) will again play Youth League in 2017 but will also take on the responsibility of the head coaching role with the Under 16 Division One Women.
Neil Offner (Springwood) will be head coach for the Under 18 Division One Women, Adam Peterson (Emu Plains) will be head coach for Division Two Youth League Men and Christine Blacklock (Winmalee) will be head coach for Under 14 Division Two Women.
The PBA will again run Youth League as its senior program next season, following a lack of interest from players for a State League Men's team.
PBA general manager Leonie Moore said: “The (Penrith Basketball) Association is committed to an early review and forum in 2017, between potential key players, directors, coaches, etc regarding the 2018 program and which senior league is best suited - both men and women.
“There will be some player movement out of Youth League Women which will impact greatly on us for 2017,” she said.
“All is still very difficult at the moment and all associations are feeling the strain of player movement, or lack of players in their women's programs.
“We will battle on and then reassess for 2018.”
