It can be easy to forget that the Duchess of Cambridge is really just a well-off mum, doing well-off mum things.
So, it really shouldn't have surprised anyone that she is a huge fan of mindfulness colouring books, the grown-up activity books which flew off the shelves last year.
The news about the Duchess' shading habit came from her husband, Prince William, who apparently made the admission while speaking to Scottish illustrator - and adult colouring book creator - Johanna Basford.
Basford, whose debut colouring book Secret Garden: an Inky Treasure Hunt and Colouring Book has sold over 10 million copies worldwide, was attending a Queen's Birthday Honours ceremony, to receive her OBE for services to art and entrepreneurship.
"Prince William actually said that his wife likes to colour in the Secret Garden, which was really sweet," Basford told the Daily Express after the event, remarking that she's "just seen the colouring community flourish".
Basford attributed the success of adult colouring to people "just craving a digital detox".
Of course, we do not know how much of a colouring fanatic the Duchess is. It could be that she, just had a dabble with a book she received over Christmas before packing up her pencils and spending the rest of the holidays sitting in front of Netflix (we've all been there), or Prince William was simply being polite to the artist who had just received an award.
But, that didn't stop the Mirror from stating that the Prince had revealed his wife's "favourite hobby" and the Mail from running the more-than-a-little condescending headline, "Watch out George, Mummy loves colouring in too!"
