A brand new vibrant children’s shop has just opened in Railway Parade, Hazelbrook.
Wild Mountain Child has ethically sourced and environmentally friendly gifts for littlies. The shop has a colourful collection of things for playtime, dress ups, to brighten up bedrooms and keep babies and toddlers relaxed and happy.
There are plenty of ideas for presents with an extensive range of headbands, sunhats, bibs, bows, finger puppets, natural baby care products and summer crocheted cardigans.
Wild Mountain Child is the creation of Hazelbrook local, photographer and designer Elise Clarkson.
“I wanted to provide a great range of practical and beautiful products for children in the Blue Mountains and a chance for our customers to make a connection with where they came from and who created them.
“I’m passionate about supplying our customers with gorgeous handmade goodies and at the same time supporting other small creative businesses in the Blue Mountains and beyond.
“We have also partnered with some amazing Fair Trade children’s clothing and toy producers that support fair work practices in Nepal, India, Philippines, Cambodia and Kenya with proceeds going directly back to the makers and their communities.”
Until recently Clarkson was working as a photographer, designer and building and running online retail stores.
“I’m thrilled that I have an opportunity to offer customers beautiful items that are sourced ethically and are created without damaging the natural world,” she said.
“Our handmade items have been lovingly designed and created by a talented group of suppliers right here in Australia. We are always interested in expanding our handmade collections so if you make something you think we might be interested in please get in touch with us.”
