Leura station upgrade is underway, with work sites now being set up in preparation for the major redevelopment.
Construction work is due to being later this month to install a lift, a canopy, a new accessible path from the Mall, taxi rank and bicycle facilities.
A Transport for NSW spokesperson said contractors will be building their site compounds on the highway and on Railway Parade.
Some temporary fencing will also be installed on the station platform.
“Main construction will start later this month, soon after the early work is completed. There will be some minor disruptions to customers and the local community during this time, however, we are working hard to keep this to a minimum.”
The design of the upgrade has taken into account the heritage aspects of Leura, the spokesperson said.
