Keep the kids happy at the tail-end of the holidays with a morning of mystery, adventure, heroics and mayhem at the Blue Mountains Theatre with Aardman Animation’s stop-motion classics Chicken Run and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
As the school holidays wind down, the Blue Mountains Theatre is here to help keep boredom at bay with our School Holiday Flix for $6! Kicking off the action is Chicken Run. When a rooster flies into a chicken farm, the chickens see him as an opportunity to escape their evil owners. A playful, family-friendly take on The Great Escape, film critic Roger Ebert said “Chicken Run is not only funny and wicked, clever and visually inventive, but kind and sweet. Tender and touching. 4.5/5”
Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit won the Oscar for best animated film in 2006. In it, Wallace and his loyal dog, Gromit, set out to discover the mystery behind the garden sabotage that plagues their village and threatens the annual giant vegetable growing contest. This delightful film is both a clever send-up of classic horror movies and a big-hearted comedy caper. Empire Magazine awarded it a rare 5 out of 5 stars.
In the era of on-demand movies, there is something extra special about seeing your favourite films up on the big screen.
