Police have thanked the public for their assistance after a number of war medals were returned to police in the Blue Mountains.
Between 11am and 2.45pm on October 18, 2016, the medals were stolen during a robbery at a home on Levy Street, Glenbrook.
This week, the medals were mailed to a local police station by an anonymous person.
The recovered medals are:
- An Australian Service Medal (1939-1945).
- A War Medal (1939-1945)
- A Pacific Star
Police spokespersonr, Chief Inspector Tracy Stone thanked the anonymous person for mailing the medals.
Chief Inspector Stone said the medals would now be returned to their rightful owner.
“It is these types of people who significantly assist investigations and make our job a lot easier,” she said.
Police are renewing their appeal for information to identify those responsible.
