A suspected drug lab in north Springwood is under investigation by police.
Blue Mountains police were called to the Lucinda Avenue home on Friday morning, January 13, regarding a suspicious object in the garage, identified as specialised chemical equipment used in the manufacture of the drug “ice” (crystal methamphetamine).
“No drugs were located, but residue was located which indicated the manufacturing process had been completed,” said Detective Acting Inspector Adam Evans.
Police are now investigating the origin of the equipment.
No charges have been laid yet.
Indecent assault
Police are appealing for public assistance as they investigate reports a girl was indecently assaulted on a train near Wentworth Falls on Friday.
About 5.30pm on January 13 a 15-year-old girl from Woodford boarded the last carriage of an east-bound train at Wentworth Falls.
Police were told as the train disembarked, an unknown man approached the girl and indecently assaulted her, before trying to kiss her.
A witness went to the girl’s aid and the man left the train.
The man is described as Caucasian, with short, dark hair and a beard, about 183cm tall, aged 40-45, wearing a yellow shirt, black sunglasses and knee-length tan coloured shorts.
Police urge anyone with information on the man’s identity to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Charges laid over child porn
A 55-year-old Bullaburra man has been charged with possession of child pornography. He was bailed to appear at Penrith Local Court on February 8.
Fled police
Police were called to a domestic violence incident in Medlow Bath about 9.30pm on January 13.
A 47-year-old man ran from police into bush before hitting a tree. Upon his arrest, he said to police, "Oh well, at least I tried."
He was charged with breaching an Apprehended (Domestic) Violence Order and was to appear before Katoomba Local Court on January 16.
