French police and security officials began a security operation at Paris' Orly airport, following reports of shots fired.
Police have confirmed a man was shot dead on Saturday morning.
According to a French television report, a man was shot and killed by a soldier, after an attempt to take hold of his firearm.
French Police confirmed an operation was in progress on Saturday on Twitter. Parts of the airport were evacuated, though full details surrounding the operation are yet to be confirmed by police.
Video footage posted on twitter shows crowds of people gathering outside the airport, following the incident.

The shooting came after a similar incident last month at the Louvre Museum. France remains under a state of emergency.
