About 2pm on Monday, March 27, a 16-year-old girl was part of a school group canyoning at Empress Canyon at Wentworth Falls.  It is understood that she slipped on wet rocks and rolled her ankle.  As a result, she couldn’t bear any weight on her foot. Police Rescue and paramedics were called and attended. The girl was airlifted out of the canyon by helicopter and unloaded to a waiting ambulance at a nearby park. Police rescue and paramedics walked down to the remaining party and helped them back to the Conservation Hut.
