Is this Australia’s most wackiest, colourful festival? Celebrating it’s 17th year this year Ironfest at Lithgow has grown since it first started in 2000 as an event to celebrate the 100 year anniversary of the birth of steel in Australia.
The first event consisted of a exhibition of metal sculptures, painting and drawings, a blacksmith demonstration and metal music by local band The Mullpigs.
It has grown year on year ever since. In 2007 it was recognised by the NSW Government as an event of state significance and in 2009 it attracted over 10,000 people.
This year, Ironfest 2017 The Lost World’s new events, displays, and features are expected to draw high numbers once again. Ironfest will be held on April 22 and 23.
