In the mystical Blue Mountains, a paramedic faces his most confronting case. With seven seconds to decide, will he follow rules to prolong a patient’s suffering or risk his career by ending their pain?

Find out at the launch of Mtns Made-supported local short film project, The Last Babushka Doll.

Written by Georgina Luck and directed by Angelo Salamanca, the film stars actors from some of Australia’s most iconic films and TV dramas including Anne-Louise Lambert (Picnic at Hanging Rock), Tiriel Mora (The Castle), Chris Gabardi (The Secret Life of Us), Joanne Samuel (Mad Max), Beth Champion (Brides of Christ), and introducing Mountains musician/actor Andie Isalie.

The film will launch at Mt Vic Flicks, followed by a Q&A with local cast and crew. Admission is free however bookings are essential. Register at https://bmee.org.au/may-salon-last-babushka-doll-film-screening-qa/.

The screening is on Friday, May 26 at 8pm at Mt Vic Flicks. Complimentary champagne, soft drinks and popcorn will be served.

The following day, Luck and Salamanca will give a workshop on how they crowdsourced their budget for the film. With matched funding from Creative Partnerships Australia, they exceeded their target and then raised extra funds through sponsorship.

They will spill the beans on all the techniques they used including pre-planning, developing a network, creating a compelling video, finding advocates, cultivating donors and approaching sponsors.

Morning tea will be served. From 11am-noon at the Katoomba Leura Community Centre, 81-83 Katoomba St, Katoomba. Admission is free however bookings are essential at https://bmee.org.au/workshop-crowdfunding-arts-project or call 0409 553 591.
